Setup Requirements
Questions your planner and venue coordinator will ask you
Storage
Each ensemble brings a ton of equipment for your wedding day. To avoid our cases, personal belongings, and backup equipment making an unwelcome appearance in your photos, please arrange a separate storage area or closet to be ready for us upon our arrival. Many venues have space for this–they just need to know in advance. Outdoors or in our cars is not safe, therefore unacceptable. We cannot be parted from our equipment as is dangerous for our instruments and, if we need to access it, it will take away from your performance time.
Setup Requirements & Considerations
Ensure our group is performing in shade. We read our music off of iPads, so we may need to change positions depending on the lighting (ex: a glare on the screen). If indoors, be aware that this may present a problem if we are performing by windows.
We require one armless chair per performer and may need additional tables with linens for ceremony sound and amplification.
For safety, please keep the musicians away from walkways, the bar, and anywhere that guests will congregate, making sure to leave plenty of space as per the space requirements in your contract. A guest who tries to sneak in between us can cause irreparable damage and/or injury. A stage or separate performance area is always recommended.
How will we time the music?
Our production team leaders will work with you and cue the musicians, ensuring that the ceremony performance is seamless.
Weather
Beautiful music, no matter the forecast.
String instruments—and our musicians—can only safely perform under the right weather conditions. Temperature, humidity, and precipitation all can have a detrimental effect. If conditions are unsafe for the instruments or our team, the ensemble will not be able to perform.
-
If the temperature is over 70ºF, significant shade (from trees or a tent, which covers the entire ensemble and all equipment) must be provided.
-
In cases of rain, a tent must be provided or the ensemble must be moved indoors. We have a tent available for rental, subject to availability.
-
In cases of high humidity or temperatures below 60ºF or above 95ºF, the ensemble must be moved indoors to a temperature-controlled building.
-
Our amplification add-on can allow us to more easily play from an indoor location for an outdoor event. Additional fees apply.
Custom Attire
Our standard attire is concert black, but you are welcome to upgrade to formal attire or to match your wedding colors. Below are a few examples from past performances. Please note an additional fee will apply for specialty costuming or colors outside our existing wardrobe.

Be heard
Ceremony Sound
Your friends and family want to hear your love story, so you need a great ceremony sound system to pick up all the voices in your ceremony (like you, your officiant, and your readers).
No power source nearby? We've got you covered with battery-powered options.
Support for Strings
Sound Design
You found the best classical wedding musicians and should truly hear them! While our acoustic groups are heard well under most circumstances, there are spaces which benefit from the added boost.
We bring our own dedicated human sound engineer (Penelope is only featured for your -and our- amusement), who continuously monitors and masters our sound as we perform. For quality assurance, we do not allow third parties to amplify our ensemble under any circumstances.
We've invested in top-of-the-line equipment and pros, so the warmth and velvety tone you love will still be there.
